The Committee examines all legal texts produced by the various levels of government with regard to professional bodies and keeps Unión Profesional members informed.
ENVIRONMENT AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY (CSR) COMMITTEE
The Environment and CSR Committee coordinates Unión Profesional members’ activities in the fields of the environment and corporate social responsibility.
The Committee tracks local, regional, national and European statutory developments on the environment and plays an active role in organising the national environmental conferences staged by the Fundación CONAMA of the Colegio Oficial de Físicos (the professional body of physicists). Unión Profesional is a trustee of CONAMA. In 2004, Unión Profesional published the book Las profesiones españolas ante el reto del desarrollo sostenible (“The Spanish professions and the challenge of sustainable development”).
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AND ACCESS COMMITTEE
The Professional Training and Access Committee examines the various ways of joining the liberal professions represented in Unión Profesional and follows up initiatives relating to the ongoing theoretical and practical training of practising professionals. The Committee’s role involves two major courses of action: first, the process of building the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), known as the Bologna Process; second, the recognition of third-country qualifications.
TAX COMMITTEE
The Tax Committee monitors any initiatives entailing change to the tax rules affecting certified professionals in private practice and professional bodies.
BYLAWS COMMITTEE
The Bylaws Committee reviews and oversees all matters relating to the rules of the professional bodies in Unión Profesional, and Unión Profesional’s own bylaws.
INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE
The International Committee maintains and foments Unión Profesional’s relations with the international bodies of which it is a member, the World Union of Professions (UMPL) and the European Council of the Liberal Professions (CEPLIS), and with other organizations whose activities may have a bearing on professional bodies (the UN, the European Commission and its directorates general, GATS, the World Trade Organization, the EU Economic and Social Committee, and so forth).
IMAGE AND COMMUNICATION COMMITTEE
The Image and Communication Committee coordinates the policies and strategies of the Chairman, the General Secretary, the Technical Secretariat and the Communications Department of Unión Profesional and of its related professional bodies.
